Your Buying Guide to Headsets

Whether you like listening to music using a music player or you are a fanatic of VOIP calls, then, you would surely use a headset when you are on the go.  There are so many kinds of headsets available in the market--from simple headsets to those that have a feature called noise cancellation.  And so, we would be discussing the different types of headsets, what other buyers are saying, what to look out for and one of the most popular headsets.

Different Types of Headsets

Wired Headsets

Just as the name implies, wired headsets are connected to a gaming console using a connecting wire. This type often allows a person to have better sound with less distortion. Due to the wired connection, a person has to be relatively near to the base console. These work well for handheld games, but still can be used for those that are not.

Wireless Headsets

There are three basic types of wireless headsets. The three types are Bluetooth, infrared, and Wi-Fi. The three types of connections allow for more movement, and a person is less connected to the actual console. Unfortunately, these also can have some distortion depending on where they are being used. Although they are convenient, they can open up a new set of difficulties.

Earbud Headset

Earbuds are a form of speaker that fits directly into the ear. They are compact, travel easily, and are lightweight. Some earbuds are more durable than others, but most are thin and can be easily broken. These are one of the easiest to find headsets. The microphone is included in the cord to the actual earbud and can easily pick up background noise or distortion. They come in all colours and designs. These may come off during duress or movement.

Over-the-Ear Headsets

An over-the-ear headset sits either in the ear, like an earbud, or outside the ear, like other styles. The earbud or other style of headphone has a piece that secures the earbud by having a piece that wraps around behind the ear. This keeps it more stable and is less likely to fall off.

Ear Cup Headset

The ear cup style of headset fits all the way over the ear. This cancels noise almost completely and provides an isolated gaming experience. They come in all styles and colours just as the others. They have ear cups that fold up for easy transport and are padded for comfort. Many people prefer these for gaming because of their noise-cancelling properties.

What Other Buyers Are Saying

When you buy a headset, it should depend on your preference and usage.  For instance, if you use a headset when you do VOIP calls on your PC, choose one that should not give pressure and irritate your ears.  Another example is when you are doing customer service and sales calls, you need a headset that has a noise-cancellation feature.  Also, be sure to read the reviews that other customers have left so, you would know their experience in buying and using a headset.

Here are some feedback that one of the headsets got from its customers:

I was so pleased with these when they first arrived, the earbuds were exactly like the Apple ones and pairing them with my devices was quick and easy. But that's where the good things ended. The control box on them is much bigger than pictured, about the size of a USB stick, which hangs heavy against the side of my neck. The sound is only average, which I expected for the price, but they're completely unusable for phone calls - they pick up so much background noise that the caller cannot hear what I am saying. The two-device pairing function is good, it switches between devices whenever sound begins on the other, but weirdly doesn't switch when a call comes in on my phone whilst I am listening to music on my laptop. The controls are unintuitive, with 'up' volume on the bottom, and 'down' volume on the top, and the control box itself feels flimsy - it's hard to push the correct part of it without accidentally compressing the entire button. The instructions that came with it were fairly minimal, and as I write this isn't suddenly begun bleeping every so often for no reason (the low battery warning is a verbal one, so it's not that). Battery life is about 2 hours of constant use.

If you looking earphone just for listen afew hours in a day this is perfect product! I bought last week n listening about 1 hour everyday while ı go to work and come back
Quick connect, good voice, easy to use

So reviewing this product on the day, this is for sure a great product and a good 4 star as a reward of its good product.

So pros: the sound quality is great, mic also works but not as great, Siri might not understand you so you may have to shout little louder. Probably built to cancel noise cancelling.
I mostly use this for music, which by walking forth back and just laying listening to music.
So for use of music and having to walk around with phone in pocket and listening to music, this tool is the best.

Cons: the charger that comes with it? Haha it's sooo small!! But while charging, you will not be able to use this device.. which is kinda... disappointing for a pricey product. I would for sure but this for £7.

I can imagine this would not work while running. As the pods will just pop out. But I am sure there's a way to keep it in place, simply use the hook that comes with it and connect it to your wire and clip it on your shirt, could that fix the problem? That's something you can try.

So besides not being able to use the device while charging is a let down for me.. but it works as I told it to. If you want it to connect, simply press on button and press Bluetooth on your phone and it would be called bellboy earphones.

Again, great product, buy this if you're into music and fast answering calls

What to Look Out for

When you purchase a headset, be sure to get one that would last for a long time as there are those that are easily broken when you use them.  Read on the features and see if a headset is compatible with the device that you would use with it.  Also, ask help from your tech savvy friend for recommendation.
